Our Story
Built on Bench Chemistry Since 2004
Quia Group, Inc. is an oral care product development firm based in Saint David, Arizona. Since 2004, we have formulated toothpastes, mouth rinses, remineralizing treatments, and tooth whitening systems that have gone on to become some of the most successful oral care products on the market.
We exist because great oral care products don't happen by accident. Behind every toothpaste that actually whitens, every mouthwash that fights bad breath at the source, and every whitening gel that delivers results without wrecking sensitivity, there is careful chemistry: the right actives, at the right levels, in a base that keeps them stable from the production line to the last squeeze of the tube.
That chemistry is what we do. Brands come to Quia Group with an idea — sometimes a fully formed concept, sometimes just a category they want to win — and we take it from brief to bench to a finished, manufacturable formula. Our clients range from first-time founders launching a direct-to-consumer brand to established consumer and professional dental companies expanding their lines.

Matt Spaid
President & Formulator
Matt Spaid is the founder, President, and lead formulator of Quia Group, Inc. He has been formulating oral care products since 2004, and in the two decades since has developed toothpastes, mouth rinses, and tooth whitening systems for brands sold around the world — from startup direct-to-consumer lines to established consumer and professional dental brands.
Matt's specialty is the hard chemistry of modern oral care. He is one of a small number of independent formulators with deep experience in nano-hydroxyapatite — the biomimetic remineralizing ingredient behind today's most advanced enamel-repair and sensitivity toothpastes — and he has spent his career at the leading edge of tooth whitening science, formulating with carbamide peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, and PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid) across everything from daily whitening toothpastes to 25% hydrogen peroxide in-office systems used chairside by dental professionals.
He is a named inventor on multiple U.S. patent filings covering oral care compositions, including whitening chemistry and novel delivery systems, and has contributed to published clinical research on tooth whitening.
Matt's approach is science-first and refreshingly direct. Every ingredient in a Quia Group formula is there for a reason — chosen for efficacy at a meaningful level, compatibility with the rest of the system, and stability over the product's real shelf life. He formulates with regulatory reality in mind, aware that a whitening gel destined for the U.S. market and one destined for the EU face very different rules, and he works directly with every client from the first conversation to the final formula.
Away from the lab bench, Matt lives and works in Saint David, Arizona, where he also runs Quia Farms.
